To fulfil contractual obligations
Personal data are processed for the execution of contracts with you or for the performance of pre-contractual measures. The purposes of data processing primarily depend on the specific product and may include, among other things, needs analyses, consulting as well as market and opinion research.
To interact and communicate with you
First and foremost, we process data such as your contact details, email address or details of your profession for the purposes of administrative management and in connection with our business activities, so as to be able to provide you with optimum support, to contact you in a targeted manner and to send you information that is relevant to you. This also includes, for example, your opinion of our services, products and therapeutic areas, your interest in further training or in a medical/scientific collaboration. In certain circumstances, personal data can only be processed if you have given us your prior consent, such as in the context of direct marketing for the sending of email newsletters. You can revoke your consent at any time. Please note that the revocation is only effective for the future.
To comply with legal requirements
As a pharmaceutical company, we are subject to various legal obligations, including accounting, transparency and documentation obligations. In particular, we are subject to legal documentation and reporting obligations for suspected adverse reactions in connection with drug safety.
If data are processed by third parties and disclosed across borders
To the extent necessary for the purposes mentioned above, we disclose your data, including across borders, to other Roche Group companies that use your personal data for the same purpose as we do, as well as to service providers commissioned by us (including Roche Group companies and market research agencies, IT service providers, for example) in Switzerland, the EU and in some circumstances also outside the EU. The processing of personal data by commissioned service providers is transferred in compliance with legal requirements by contractual agreement. We remain responsible for this data processing.
How long are data stored
We store personal data only as long as is necessary for the purpose for which they were collected or as long as required under applicable laws and regulations. As a rule, we store your data for a further 10 years after the end of the business relationship and then delete them.
How we protect your data
Roche uses technology and safeguards to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, improper use, disclosure, loss or destruction. Your data are only accessible to authorised persons who need them because of their duties and responsibilities.
